How to use Target Subdirectory

Set an editable relative path for your MASV integrations

A Target Subdirectory is an optional relative path that you can specify for some MASV integrations. You can edit the Target Subdirectory as needed from the MASV Web App > My Integrations page (no need to create a new integration). For example, your root path might be /users/name/projects. In the Target Subdirectory box, you can enter project-1.  All files delivered to the integration will be delivered to /users/name/projects/project-1.  If you change projects and now want the integration to deliver files to a new subdirectory, you can enter a new Target Subdirectory, project-2.

Benefit of setting a Target Subdirectory

Setting a Target Subdirectory for an integration gives you a more consistent delivery path for packages ingested to an integration, regardless of whether the files are delivered with or without a Portal.  When a Target Subdirectory is not set, the following default directories are used for MASV deliveries:

  • /Portal Downloads/{portal name}/{package name}: The default directory created and used if no Target Subdirectory is specified.
  • /MASV/{package name}: The default directory used for non-Portal deliveries (Save to Cloud, Send Package to Cloud).

Circled in green: Target subdirectory is set (target-set), and both Portal deliveries and non-Portal deliveries are ingested directly into the target directory.

For more information about setting a Target Subdirectory, refer to the instructions for individual integrations. If you use a Portal to send files to an integration, you can append additional subdirectories to the Target Subdirectory. For more information, see Adding custom subdirectories.
