How to use a MASV Portal to send files to integrations

Upload once and deliver files to one or more cloud services and on-premises storage locations

MASV Portals are a fantastic way to collect files from clients, colleagues, and contributors outside your organization. What makes them even more powerful is connecting them with one or more of the cloud service or on-premises storage integrations available in MASV.

After you connect an integration in MASV, you can use any of your Portals to automatically forward files to the integrations you want.

Example: You're in the field, you have important files to send, and they need to end up in three places:

You can use a single Portal to automatically deliver the files to all three locations.

For information about integrations available in MASV, see What integrations does MASV support?

Adding custom subdirectories

You can also specify subdirectories (Custom Path) for integrations associated with a Portal. For example, in the Portal settings, you can append a subfolder to the path specified for an integration. Files delivered to the Portal are saved to the corresponding subfolder(s).

Example:

Amazon S3 integration with MASV:

Root = projects

Target Directory = 2025

Portal A:

Custom Path setting for Amazon S3 integration = project-a

Files transferred to Amazon S3 via Portal A will be delivered to projects/2025/project-a

To enable integrations for a MASV Portal

  1. In the MASV Web App, select Request Files with Portals in the sidebar.
  2. On the Request Files page, select the Portal you want to use. In the Actions column, select the vertical dots icon  ,  and choose Edit from the menu.
  3. On the Edit Portal page, select the Integrations tab, and in the Status column select the toggle beside the connections you want to enable. Select as many integrations as you like.

  4. (Optional) To specify a subdirectory for an integration, in the Customize column, select the Edit icon and enter a destination subdirectory in the Customize Path window. The subdirectory is appended to the path for the integration. For example, it is added to the root and relative path (Target Directory) that you specified for the integration. If a Target Directory was specified for the integration, it displays to the left of the subdirectory box. Select OK.masv-customize-portal-path
  5. At the bottom of the page, select the Save button to apply your changes.

Note: You can turn off an integration at any time by following the same steps and disabling the toggle for the Portal.

That's it! Now every time files are delivered using the Portal, MASV automatically transfers those files to the selected integrations, using the path and directory you set. These transfers count towards your total data usage in the same way as a download counts.

Tip: You can use the Actions menu on the Request Files page to send the Portal link to other people (Send Upload Request) or to get a link that you can use yourself (Copy Portal Link). masv-action-menu-send-copy

Note: If a Mimir box appears in the Customize Path window, you can ignore it unless you have a Mimir integration. For Mimir, the form ID that you enter here overwrites the default Mimir Sidecar Form ID that is assigned in My Integrations.masv-customize-with-mimir-sidecar-form-id
