How to create shareable download links in MASV
Create a shareable download link that doesn't require a recipient email
Email isn't always the method of choice for teams who need to transfer files–and there might be times where you don't have an email address for the recipient. MASV lets you create a shareable link that can be copied and pasted into other communication tools, such as Slack or Microsoft Teams messages.
Considerations
Links are convenient, but be aware of the following:
-
When you share a single link with multiple people, rather than entering email addresses in Email Recipients, you can't track who has downloaded the package (the link is associated with your email account only). When you enter email addresses, a link is generated for each email recipient. The Package Details page and the Transfer History (Sent tab > Recipients column) list recipients.
- Download limits apply per link, so if you're sharing a download link with more than one person, ensure that you set the Max Downloads per Link setting high enough.
To send a package by creating a shareable link
-
In the MASV Web App, from the sidebar on the left, select Send Files.
-
Add your files to the upload page using the Add Files button or the Add Folders button if you want to maintain the folder structure.
-
Leave the Email Recipients box blank (do not enter any email addresses).
-
Select any additional settings.
-
Select Send.
-
When the upload to MASV is complete, the download link displays. Copy the download link.

-
Share the download link with your recipients however you like. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful download.
You can find a record of the transfer in your Transfer History (Sent tab). Please note that your email address is listed as the recipient.
Tip: You can create a new download link for an existing package. In the Transfer History, select the Sent tab, and in the Action column select the Get Download Link from the drop-down menu.
