How to connect to Google Drive

Step-by-step guide for integrating MASV with your Google Drive storage

 ⚠️ Warning: Google Drive is not optimized for large file transfers due to its file transfer speed limits. Transfers to Google Drive might take longer than to Google Cloud or other cloud services. You can use MASV to deliver files to Google Drive. MASV authenticates the connection using your credentials for your Google account. For security, MASV cannot deliver to Google Team, Shared drives, or existing folders that weren't created for MASV deliveries. Files must be delivered to a MASV-created folder.

Caution: Google does not check for duplicate folder names when you set a Target Subdirectory. For example, if you have an existing folder in your Google Drive named "Project Files" (not created by MASV), and you set your Target Subdirectory to "Project Files", a new "Project Files" folder is created for MASV to write to, resulting in two folders with the same name.

To integrate MASV with Google Drive

  1. In the MASV Web App, as Team Owner, Admin, or a role with Integration permissions, select Integrations from the sidebar on the left.

  2. On the Integrations page, select the Available Integrations tab.

  3. In the Basic cloud storage area, select Google Drive.

  4. Select Continue to acknowledge the warning.

  5. In the Add Integration window, type a meaningful name in the Connection Name box (Google Drive is the default name).

  6. Select the Authenticate button to sign into your Google account.

  7. (Optional) To set a target subdirectory for deliveries, expand Folder Options, and in the Target Subdirectory box, type a folder path destination. MASV will deliver files to the MASV-created folder. If no target subdirectory is entered, files are delivered to the default MASV folder.

  8. Select Connect.
