How to connect MASV with Box storage
Integrate MASV with your Box storage
Box offers a central platform for cloud storage, file sharing, syncing, e-signatures, and collaboration. Integrating MASV with Box makes it easy to send files to Box storage.
This page includes the following topics:
Overview
To integrate Box with MASV, you'll need to create a Custom Box Application. MASV uses the App Settings file (JSON format) to create the integration. MASV leverages the Box App to provide a secure storage directory that is separate from user data and can easily be shared with other collaborators.
Create a Box App
Create a private developer app on Box for MASV to use to transfer files. The app will have its own directory structure that is separate from user accounts or other applications. You can share access to any number of collaborators as you wish.
-
To create a new application, open the Box Developer Console.
-
Select Create New App.
-
Select Custom App and select Next.
-
Select OAuth 2.0 with JWT (Server Authentication) and select Next.
-
Enter a unique name (ie. MASV Portal Downloads).
-
On the App Settings page under General, you may manage your collaborators and submit the app for Admin approval. Even if you are the administrator for your account, you will need to click Submit for Authorization and then follow the instructions you will receive via email to approve the application.
-
After you have approved the app, navigate to the Configuration page.
-
Application Access should be set to Application and Application Scopes should include (all other scopes are not needed and should be left unchecked):
-
Read all files and folders stored in Box.
-
Read and write all files and folders stored in Box.
-
-
For Advanced Features, unmark/disable Perform Actions as Users and Generate User Access Tokens.
-
For Add and Manage Public Keys, select Generate a Public/Private Keypair. This step might require you to enable two-factor authentication on your account.
-
Download the provided JSON file and store it safely – it is required to configure the Cloud Integration.
-
Note: If you lose this JSON file and need to re-upload it to MASV, you will need to repeat the process of generating a public/private keypair (Box does not store these credentials for you).
-
- Save your changes.
For more information on how to configure your Box settings, see Box App Settings.

That's it! After authentication, the service is connected with MASV. You can now:
Where can I find my files in Box?
After files are delivered into your Box account, they do not show up in the regular console view. You can find your files here (in most cases): https://app.box.com/master/content. It shows you your main account and any Box apps content you have created.
