How to download files
Download files from a MASV link – no account required
When someone sends you files using MASV, you'll receive a download link. The link is often sent via email, but the sender can also choose to paste the link into a Slack message, text, or other messaging service. You don't need a MASV account to download the files unless the sender has requested that you authenticate.
To download files from a MASV email in your browser
- In your browser, open the MASV email. The email includes sender information, the number of files, total package size, and an expiry date. You must download the files before the expiry date and time.
- Select the Download Package button or select the Download URL.
- Do one of the following:
- To download only one file at a time, select the download icon to the right of the file name.
- To download the files to a zip file (if there are multiple files), select Download in Browser. If you want to avoid the zip file, select the Want to skip the zip button at the top of the browser.
- To optimize download speeds for large files and avoid the zip file, you can switch to the MASV Desktop App if you have it installed by selecting Download with MASV Desktop App. In the MASV Desktop App, you can set Destination folder and select Download.
Note: If the sender protected the files with a password, you will be prompted to enter the password before you can download the files.
