# If a recipient doesn’t download the file will I be charged?

## MASV only charges when files are downloaded.

No. We charge based on the number of gigabytes of data downloaded. So, if your recipient has not initiated the download, you will not be charged for data. If you store an uploaded package beyond the free days included with your plan (you have extended the package expiry date), then you will be charged for [Extended Storage](https://help.massive.io/en/how-does-extended-storage-work?hsLang=en).
