Your (or your client’s) download could be slow due to the following reasons:

1. The bandwidth it low.
You can find out the total available bandwidth by doing a quick speed test on http://www.speedtest.net/

2. You are saving to an external USB or RAID or Network Share
MASV always recommends saving to a local disk versus a externally connected disk. The reason is most operating systems do not have the bandwidth to download a file and save the files to an external disk at the same time. Your external USB or Network Share may have a 300+Mbps write speed, but that number is only true for files already on your local disks. When downloading files from the Internet, they have to be saved into memory first before they can be transferred to an external destination. This causes a bottleneck and your slow download performance.

One way to confirm this is to look at the Disk Performance while MASV is downloading the files. If you are seeing close to 100% utilization on the disk, this will cause significant performance issues on downloads.

3. There could be other network-intensive tasks running in the background.
Try closing those tasks to see if the download experience gets better. You can use the Task manager on Windows or Activity monitor to view all currently running tasks and terminate the unnecessary ones.
